Dear Colleagues and partners,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to attend the 1st All-Africa Post Harvest Congress and Exhibition which will take place in Nairobi, Kenya from 28th to 31st March, 2017 at the Safari Park Hotel.
The Congress, whose theme is Reducing Food Losses and Waste: Sustainable Solutions for Africa, will discuss and showcase technologies, practices and actionable strategies for reducing food loss and waste (FLW) in Africa. It will draw attendance from over 500 participants including researchers, academics, farmers, development agencies, civil society and policy makers from all over the world.
The congress sub-themes include:
- Perishable food crop commodities (fruits, vegetables, roots & tubers, edible fungi)
- Perishable livestock and fish food products (including milk, meat, eggs, fish)
- Non-perishable food commodities (grains, including cereals and pulses, processed foods)
- Capacity Development including training, research and extension programs
- Gender, Policy and Governance issues affecting postharvest management
We have a great line-up of re-knowned speakers who will discuss key issues in postharvest management with an aim of identifying effective interventions to reduce FLW on the continent. The exhibitions have been designed to be interactive and provide opportunity for business-to-business discussions with the aim of fostering public-private-partnerships.
This four day long Congress is an excellent opportunity to meet your peers from all over the world, share ideas and create an opportunity for networking, collaboration, sharing of technical information and the building of trust relationship in Africa.
Please join us in making this first ever Postharvest Congress in Africa a resounding success and set the stage for real action towards FLW reduction.
