Dr. Jane Ambuko

Dear Delegate,ngewe

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, I  take this opportunity to most sincerely thank you for honoring our invitation to attend the 1st All-Africa Post Harvest Congress and Exhibition. You made the dream of this important convening a reality and we are most grateful for the sacrifices you made to attend the congress.

I hope that you enjoyed the many activities we planned for you including Excursions, Plenary sessions, Panel discussions, Poster Sessions, Symposia, Exhibitions, Cocktail and Dinner. Most importantly it is my hope that you learnt something new, made new friend, established and /or strengthened partnerships and collaborations. I believe that the congress gave us all an opportunity renew our resolve and commitment to be part of the community of change agents making a difference towards postharvest loss reduction.

Let us not lose the momentum but build on it as we look forward to the next convening where we can all report on the progress made towards attainment of 50% postharvest loss reduction by 2025 as outlined in the Malabo Declaration. Let us build on the lessons learnt, connections made and opportunities discovered during the congress to help us realize REAL progress towards achieving the set targets.

We will be sharing the full congress report/communique that captures the deliberations of the congress and the recommendations thereof outlining next steps.

I wish you all safe travels back to your stations.

Thank you very much
